The Utah Clean Fuels and Vehicle Technology Grant and Loan Program

The Utah Division of Air Quality will be accepting applications for Clean Fuel projects until December 15, 2009. Eligibility for grants and loans are limited to projects for government vehicles and private sector business vehicles that meet the eligibility requirements set forth in R307-123, and for refueling equipment dispensing a clean fuel as provided for in Subsection 19-1-403-2(d) within the state of Utah. Applications postmarked on or before December 15, 2009 will be accepted for review. The Utah Clean Fuels and Vehicle Technology Grant and Loan Program, funded through the Clean Fuels and Vehicle Technology Fund, provides grants and loans to assist businesses and government entities in covering: the cost of converting a vehicle to operate on clean fuels; the incremental cost of purchasing an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) clean fuel vehicle; and the cost of retrofitting diesel vehicles with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency verified closed crankcase filtration devices, diesel oxidation catalysts, and/or diesel particulate filters. The EPA’s National Clean Diesel Campaign is announcing the availability of funding assistance through the Energy Policy Act of 2005, (EPAct 2005). EPA’s National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program is soliciting applications for projects that reduce diesel emissions through a variety of diesel emission reduction strategies. Eligible projects must include one or more of the following diesel emissions reduction solutions: verified emission control technologies including retrofit devices, cleaner fuels, and engine upgrades, idle reduction technologies; certified engine repowers; and/or certified vehicle or equipment replacement. Vulture II–During the Vulture Phase I program, DARPA identified innovative solutions that expanded the knowledge base and design capabilities for an uninterrupted five (5) year airborne payload-on-station system. This BAA for Vulture II seeks to advance the technology through development and flight demonstration. The Government expects solar powered – electric motor propulsion solutions, but will consider other approaches except radioactive energy sources or lighter-than-air configurations. Fiscal Year (FY) 2010 Department of Defense Multidisciplinary Research Program of the University Research Initiative – For Proposal Submission to the Army– The MURI program supports basic science and/or engineering research at U.S. institutions of higher education that is of potential interest to DoD. The program is focused on multidisciplinary research efforts that intersect more than one traditional science and engineering discipline to address issues of critical concern to the DoD.
