Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP)Exploratory Development (SEED) – The Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) is the DoD’s environmental research and development program, planned and executed in partnership with the DOE and the EPA. SERDP’s role is to fund research and development that addresses environmental issues relevant to the management and mission of the DoD. The SERDP Office is interested in receiving pre-proposals for research focusing in the areas of Environmental Restoration, Munitions Response, Resource Conservation and Climate Change, and Weapons Systems and Platforms technologies. Sources Sought: Thermal-Hydraulic and Severe Accident Progression Modeling Support for the Development of a Full-Scope, Comprehensive, Level 3 Probabilistic Risk Assessment — The purpose of this announcement is to provide potential sources the opportunity to submit information regarding their capabilities to perform work for the NRC free of Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCOI). The NRC is seeking to identify commercial organizations capable of supporting the thermal-hydraulic and severe accident progression aspects associated with the development of a Level 3 PRA. This can include, but is not limited to, (1) determination or confirmation of system success criteria and (2) analysis or confirmation of severe accident progression for both the reactor and spent fuel pool. Connecting American Manufacturing — The DoD seeks to address the mechanism by which spare part requirements are presented to the industrial base. Current approaches often prevent small manufacturers from quickly identifying manufacturing requirements that match their unique competency and providing bids at a reasonable cost. Existing systems simply post the Government’s requirements without screening or organizing the requirements based upon the forecasted capabilities needed to meet them. Read more

Sources Sought: Food and Water Environmental Surveillance Assays For Joint Biological Agent Identification and Diagnostic System (JBAIDS) — The JPMO CBMS-BSV is seeking companies with experience and capability in developing environmental surveillance assays for the detection of food and water pathogens. Specifically, companies would develop and validate real-time polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) assays to aid in detection of food and water pathogens using the existing JBAIDS analyzer, developed and manufactured by Idaho Technology, Inc. The panel of food and water assays would be designed to identify pathogens of interest to the DoD, specifically Norovirus, Salmonella, E.coli/0157:H7, E.coli/ETEC, E.coli/STEC, E.coli/EHEC, Crytosporidium, Campylobacter, Vibrio, Bacillus cereus, Clostridium perfringens, Listeria monocytogends and Cyclospora.
